Topic: High Strength Steel Reinforcing

Speaker: Bethany Hennings, Western Region Manager of CRSI

The Tucson Chapter of the SEAoA is hosting a lunch presentation to discuss the specification, design and detailing of high strength steel reinforcing in concrete elements. The presentation will provide insight into the availability of the high strength reinforcing, as well as detailing practice to reduce congestion and labor.

Ms. Hennings's Bio:

Bethany currently oversees operations of the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute in the Western Region, representing 11 states and three Canadian Provinces.  With a degree in Architecture from Lawrence Technological University, and an MBA from Duke University, she practiced as a civil engineer on multi-million dollar land development projects and has been representing cement and reinforcing steel associations for the past nine years. Bethany has presented programs to design professionals, contractors and students across the United States.

The mission of the Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute is to maximize the use of steel reinforcement in concrete construction.

Serving the needs of architects, engineers and construction professionals, CRSI offers many technical publications, design aids, software programs, educational seminars, promotional activities, membership functions and design award programs. CRSI members are manufacturers, fabricators and placers of steel reinforcing bar and related products, as well as professionals who are involved in the research, design and construction of reinforced concrete.
