STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS ASSOCIATION OF ARIZONA
Tucson Chapter Lunch Meeting:
Welded Wire Reinforcement & Engineered Structural Mesh
The history of Welded Wire Reinforcement dates back to US patents issued in 1901 and includes extensive use in such iconic structures as the Empire State Building and World Trade Towers in New York, the Marina City Towers and Standard Oil Building in Chicago, and in the construction of the interstate highway system in the 1950’s and 1960’s. WWR continues to be used today, driven by the need to execute projects faster and more cost effectively. The presentation will cover project applications, Codes & Standards to know, detailing recommendations, and cost savings versus rebar.
