Program Description:
Preparing for engineering licensure can be overwhelming—especially when trying to determine what to study, how to prepare, and how to stay accountable throughout the process. The SEAoA Licensure Launchpad was created to help aspiring engineers navigate that journey together.
The FE/PE Foundations Track is a 12-week, volunteer-led program focused on strengthening the fundamental structural engineering concepts encountered on the FE and PE Civil: Structural exams. Each two-hour online session will combine a focused review of the week's topic with collaborative practice problems, code and reference navigation, CBT exam strategies, time management, and discussion with practicing structural engineers.
Rather than functioning as a traditional exam review course, the Licensure Launchpad is intended to complement participants' independent studying by providing structure, accountability, mentorship, and additional opportunities to work through exam-style problems alongside other aspiring engineers.
Topics will include those covered in the FE/PE exams - Analysis of Structures - Load and Load Applications, Analysis of Structures–Forces and Load Effects, Temporary Structures and Other Topics, Design and Details of Structures–Materials and Material Properties, Design and Details of Structures–Component Design and Detailing. Participants will also receive additional practice problems and weekly quizzes to reinforce the material outside of the scheduled sessions.
The initial program will run for 12 weeks on weekday evenings, with the potential to extend the Launchpad into an additional 12 weeks of programming based on participant interest and program development.
Registration:
Registration is $10 for the entire 12-week program. Participants must be current SEAoA members. SEAoA student memberships are available for only $10 per year, making the program accessible to students and early-career engineers beginning their licensure journey.
