    About the Company & Opportunity

Structural Engineering Excellence is a growing structural design office specializing in the structural design of buildings and forensic engineering. Founded on a passion for serving clients and building strong industry relationships, we deliver engineering services with true excellence.

This is a unique opportunity to join a nimble, independent consulting firm as our very first employee. If you are looking to escape the rigid corporate grind, this role offers unmatched flexibility and a close, direct mentorship environment. You will work one-on-one with a licensed engineer, taking projects from start to finish while gaining a comprehensive understanding of the engineering business.

What We Offer (Perks & Benefits)

While we are a small firm that cannot offer traditional health insurance or 401(k) corporate packages, we provide premium perks that large firms rarely match:

    • True Workplace Flexibility: Highly flexible work hours to fit your lifestyle and personal schedule.

    • 100% Remote Flexibility: Work comfortably from home, omitting the daily office commute.

    • Retirement Security: A company-funded SEP-IRA plan, allowing you to build retirement wealth seamlessly.

    • Travel Compensation: Full Arizona standard mileage payment for all local travel to project sites.

    • Direct Mentorship: Direct, daily collaboration with the principal engineer to accelerate your career and help you achieve your PE.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare structural design calculations and technical reports for building projects (residential, commercial, and forensic).

    • Develop structural drawings, construction documents, and technical specifications.

    • Conduct field investigations, on-site observations of existing structures, and construction inspections.

    Qualifications

    • Education/Certification: 4-year degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with an EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certificate.

    • Experience: 1 to 4 years of related work experience in structural building design.

    • Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in key industry applications, including MathCAD, Excel, RISA-3D, Enercalc, and AutoCAD.

    • Travel: Must possess a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license for local travel to project sites/client offices for observations and inspections.

    • Traits: Highly self-disciplined, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in a remote layout.

    How to Apply

Interested candidates should submit their resume and a brief cover letter explaining why a flexible, remote consulting environment is a good fit for them.
